Gareth Parry continued his ongoing love affair with the Cave of Justice (Parisella’s that is) when he repeated Greenheart Connection. Gareth confirmed the grade at V12/8a+ in line with V11 for Trigger Cut.
The chronically difficult Jerry’s Problem at Sheep Pen Boulders in the Ogwen Valley has received another couple of ascents from Dylan Smith and Chris Davies; Chris reckoned it was worth V11/8a.
Other things worth noting are James MacHaffie’s repeat of The Big Smile - perhaps the hardest V9/7c in the known universe. This has yet to see a single session repeat, even the supersonically powerful Mark Katz, who made the second ascent, was forced into a ‘multi day epic’ (okay, two evenings), And Ben Bransby’s repeat of Cosmic Josskin (V10/7c+) on the Mallory Boulder.
Also of note is news of the demise of the second finger lock at the start of the Barrel Traverse – this seems likely to increase the difficulty of all problems and links that pass through this point.
