Chris Davies showing the way on the original stand up version of The Limpet (V6/7a) back in the day (circa 1996), Photo: Si Panton

Chris Doyle has added a low start to the Angel Bay classic: The Limpet, bumping the overall grade to V7/7a+.

Chris pulled on in a crouching position with his left hand on the slopey ledge and right hand on an undercut in the roof. He then went with his left hand out to a three finger edge, before moving up with his right to the first hold on The Limpet.

During the same session, Sam Cattell repeated Paul Higginson's test piece: Manchester Dogs V11/8a

Stop press (30/11/2006): some retro claims in for this line. Earliest is Dave Noden and Adam Hocking who climbed the sitting start from a matched hand position on the low block (i.e. one move lower than how Chris did it) a couple of years ago. The sitter was done into both The Limpet and Limp Wrist.
