Flushed with the joys of spring Big George unveils another esoteric wonder for the NWB.com readership:
Dear NWB.com,
This handsome rock has somehow failed to make an impact; until now attention going to poorer offerings further up the Pass. Once noticed, it is difficult to survey the landscape between Nant Peris and Llanberis without it dominating one’s view. Martin Crook discovered it and quickly
informed the relevant authorities.
It is located just above the Conway Crags outcrop (OS ref. 600 585), and is clearly visible from the road. Approach time: 5 minutes. The most notable problem is the Major Hoohaa V1/Font 5, an obvious upwards manoeuvre in the centre. The traverse remains unclimbed despite the euphoric attention afforded this new and accessible venue. The ‘human interest’ shot provided is of non other than Ray Wood, seen here relaxing on a slab to the right side.
Regards,
Big G
