Keith Sharples showing his method on Washed Up V8/7b (Photo: KeithSharplesPhotography)

Old school Peak activists, Keith Sharples and Robin Barker snatched a new line at Porth Ysgo during a recent holiday visit. Washed Up V8/7b trends rightwards from a crouching start at the bottom of Joystick. A series of intense and slopey moves lead up right into the central line on the wall (Jones’ Eliminate V3/6a).

Keith and Robin were nearly thwarted by bad weather and high tides, and found themselves drawn to one of the only dry sections of the boulder field.

“It was about the only bit of dry rock there - and a good find it was too. Very worthwhile if you visit at high tide as we did. Not that many actual moves but technical, tenuous and very dropable - especially in humid conditions.” Commented Keith after the ascent.
