Neil Dyer has climbed a fine combination line on the Benllech Roof. Side Event V9/7C starts on the good holds on Sideshow, does the crux Egyptian move on that problem, before making a desperate lurch leftwards in to the higher ramp system on The Main Event, and then finishing as for that problem.
This was the original concept for Sideshow, but it was assumed that after the juggy shelf parted company with the crag that the remaining holds were insufficient to allow access into the upper ramp. Neil described the difficulty as being top end V9/7C, similar to Bus Stop in the Pass.
Neil also made the second ascent of The Main Event, reckoning it was slightly easier than Jerry’s Roof (i.e. soft V9/7C) and probably worth top end V8/7B+. Neil also repeated The Bonus, reckoning V6/7A was probably fairer than V5/6C.
