Y Ci Bach Cŵl!

Si Panton has returned to the Ci Bach Cŵl boulder, up on the ridge above Ynys Ettws and added a pair of entertaining new lines. Ci Bach (7A) is an intense number, which starts sitting on the left side of the barrel-shaped face, left hand undercutting the rib feature, right on a choice of two undercuts or a tight pocket. Make a hard slap for a hold on the lip with your right, then go again with your right, spinning over leftwards to snag a high hold as per the final crux of Ci Bach Cŵl, and finish out left as per that problem.

Cŵn Cysgu (7A, but top end) starts as per Ci Bach but then swerves right and makes a tricky reverse of the Ci Bach Cŵl mid section but staying high on the intermittent finger rail, and pressing out onto the slab above its start to finish.

This neat boulder is practically roadside and gives much absorbing technicality. Mid winter it tends to seep, so it’s well worth getting on it now before the monsoon season really kicks in.
