Ashleigh Wolsey-Heard has added a new low start to the popular Pigeon's beach problems 14 Years Later and Fish Pie. The low start is common to both as they start in the same place. With shifting beach levels the traditional start has ended up in a crouched position on the left sidepull which has a pocket on top. The new start has a hard snatch into the left hand sidepull pinch from two lower sidepull/undercuts. The low start bumps 14 Years Later to 8A and Fish Pie to 7C+.
Dave Mason repeated both low starts and commented: "The low starts add quality and difficulty. On Fish Pie you can't use the popular beta when coming from lower down and have to climb it completely differently, making it harder'. Dave and Ashleigh also both repeated the new Orme classic In For The Race too, thinking 7C+ to be more appropriate. Dave got it on his second go. Mike Hart made the second ascent a few days before and agreed with the grade assessment. It's not clear how much this problem suffers with seepage in the winter months so get on it while it's dry.
