Ray Wood on Turmoil V7/7a+, photos: Si Panton

...hanging in there...

...getting tired now?

Ray Wood joined in the Cromlech Roof Crack cave party, by climbing the obvious left to right lip traverse from the start of Rock for Light across the front edge of the cave to finish up the final wall of RFL (i.e. avoiding the low block on the right).

Turmoil, as Ray has christened his creation, is a fierce stamina pump. There are no particularly desperate moves, but nonetheless this is an ultra-sustained, arm-wasting grind, clocking in at least 25 hand movements.

Ray reckoned V7/7a+ was about right; a grade and quality confirmation came from Si Panton who nipped in for the second ascent.
