Last night, and after a hard day’s building work, Neil Dyer made an entirely casual link of Halfway House V12/Font 8a+ into the highball finish of Upper Cut V8/+/Font 7b/+. The ascent went smoothly, apart from one point when Neil stopped to complain of indigestion and stomach cramps. Brushing aside such minor discomforts he pressed on for the bold top out, much to the astonishment of the assembled throng.

As for the grade, Neil was his usual conservative self, stating that he wasn’t claiming anything harder than V12/Font 8a+ for his efforts. Neil had previously made the first ascent of Upper Cut, and linked Trigger Cut into Upper Cut, and is now building up for the ultimate tick: Director’s Cut into Upper Cut.
