Another crystal clear day in the Llanberis Pass and Si Panton took full advantage, nipping out late afternoon to grab the obvious extension of his own problem, Si’s Traverse into Adam’s Wall on the Jerry’s Wall block. The link rates V8/Font 7b.

“I tried this briefly back in the spring when I did the traverse, and came back to it last week. Unfortunately the holds were a bit damp and I found that I couldn’t even do my original matching sequence on the crux of the traverse. This forced me to re-think, and I managed to come up with a funky heelhook method, which is slightly easier. I still greased off the last move on the link though.”

“Today was a different matter – the best conditions I’ve experienced since last winter. Did the stand up, then did the link first go. I think it’s a brilliant problem; interesting moves and very sustained. That last insecure snatch for the top feels very tenuous after all that intense climbing!” Commented Si after the ascent.
