15 year old lads, Gwion Llewellyn and Charlie Panton have bagged a grade 7 first ascent each at the right side of the Cirque of the Unclingables in Nant y Fedw.
Last weekend Gwion climbed a diagonal line leading rightwards from the stand up version of James Dyson Unplugged spinning over right onto the sidepull ear to reach the obvious pocket and a blind slap round the lip, and a finish in the hanging groove on the right. Sobor rates 7A.
On Sunday Charlie bagged the right hand line on the wall, moving up from a left hand undercut sds to a pair of poor open hand pinches and a slopey lip encounter. A spicy finish, common with Sobor adds to the drama on this intense line. Llygadau Gwyrdd rates 7A. The crack and associated holds off to the right are (obviously) out of bounds, as is the vegetated ledge system on the right.
