The Canolbarth sloper

The beaver platform

Owen Hayward nipped up to the quick drying Black Country Crack area of Parc Dudley (home to his recent Beast from the East) for the sit start to Canolbarth. Taming the horribly sloping landing area with a makeshift log/branch platform (which thankfully proved to be strong enough to land on....several times!) opened up the sit start. It's a great problem with a fridge hugging start, holding both aretes, into a nice rough sloper followed by techy crimps and sidepulls and an airy but easy finish. Visitors to Parc Dudley should note that this area and Silver Wall dry quickly whereas the Fooster and Consultant Walls need a few dry days to come into condition.
